MARCI K. MAY
SOLSTICE ART GALLERY OWNER AND ARTIST
Marci is the mother to three wonderful boys and two golden retrievers. Her boys are Mason, Hugo and Henry. She loves running her boys around town and attending their soccer games. She is married to her high school sweetheart Erik J. May, Attorney at Bolinger Law Firm and Howard County Juvenile Court judge.
Marci is a practicing artist and attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN where she majored in Fine Arts. She has taught summer art camp in conjunction with the Kokomo Art Association and worked as a potters' apprentice at Conner Prairie. She has completed numerous interior design/commissioned art projects for businesses and homes throughout Indiana. Marci is a member of the Kokomo Art Association. She has served on the board of the Kokomo Art Association and Arts Alliance of Kokomo. As part of her service, she helped facilitate Kokomo's public art displays of the Haynes International Statue and the Bronzed Indian Maiden Statue located uptown Kokomo.
Marci, with the loving support and a gentle push from her husband and children, decided to open The Palette Room at Solstice Art Gallery, LLC in 2012 as a way to expose the community to the arts. She has a passion for teaching art while making art fun for everyone. She hopes that The Palette Room party atmosphere and experience will strike an interest in the arts for all that attend. She believes that art should be practiced, experienced and celebrated.
